“You are a victim of the rules you live by.” - Jenny Holzer
I feel privileged to have worked on so many different works of art over the years. White Tower by Jenny Holzer is a one of a kind piece featured in the November 2018 Contemporary Art Day catalog. The edit presented a different type of challenge as the company requested I create a dramatic, dark gallery shot. Every aspect of the original image was altered; the background was built from scratch, a shadow underneath was added, parts of the work had to be darkened to create consistency with the background. On top of that the LED lights had to be straightened, lightened and in some cases removed, as the original image was shot with the text scrolling. The final edit was used as a double page spread in the catalog and a zoomed in version was used for the website.
